What projects are chosen?

The Quality Assurance Board (comprised of representatives from the Conservation District, NRCS and PA Fish & Boat Commission) reviews and ranks all project applications.  Projects that address more severe erosion and sedimentation pollution problems are ranked highest.

What’s Involved?

Eligible entities, with the assistance of their county conservation district, submit  a 1-page application that includes cost estimates, work site sketch and in-kind contribution.  If the project is approved the township must sign a work contract with the District. Post construction site inspection will be performed before the final allocation is granted.  All projects must incorporate environmentally sound maintenance practices and approved products to correct pollution problems related to the roadway.

How are we paid?

Grants awarded to successful applicants provide advance payments (50%) to aid with project cash flow and complete project work on a timely basis.  Final payment is awarded upon final inspection approval.
